The Procurement Specialist ensures that the subcontracts, materials, items and services required to build and maintain a construction project are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions of the overarching construction contract. An important aspect of this role is seeking maximum value for the company through time and cost agreements.
Provides responsive, high quality service to the project team, subcontractors and suppliers by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
Update and maintain data bases to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures to include any and all necessary contract documentation requirements.
Read specifications and drawings and perform takeoffs for pricing.
Communicate and develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Assist Estimator in the setup of project procurement matrices.
Assist Project team in obtaining all required clearances necessary for subcontract / purchase order award.
Coordinates specifications, plans and proposal forms and other documentation necessary to support procurement efforts.
Assist in securing bids/proposals as required.
Bachelor's Degree in fields of construction management, engineering or strategic sourcing (Purchasing) experience strongly preferred.
Minimum of 6 years previous experience in procurement, construction estimating or construction field operations.
